Default Black around the edges of Linux screen

Hi,

I'm trying to leave Windows XP and migrate to Linux. I've tried several distributions. The latest is PCLinux. The problem I'm having is with the display. It does not fill the screen. There is black all around the edges. I'm using a Dell Pentium 4 with a NVIDIA 64MB DDR Gforce3 Ti200 graphics card. My monitor is a Viewsonic 19 inch High def screen. What can I do to get a full screen?
