hahahaha yeah, that sounds about right. My roommate definitely doesn't have the slightest clue about DirectX, let alone anisotropic filtering or antialiasnig.

Yep. This is why the 50GB BD has no space advantage over the 30GB HD DVD.

This could work as long as a driver and a player is written for the hardware under linux.

I'm sure The Cell is able to do this all natively. Just plug the 360 HD DVD drive in and it'll write the drivers/player itself.
