People throwing $2-$3 k for a PS3 are most likely million-airs who have little regard for a piddle thousand dollars in the first place.

I am quite annoyed by "BD fanboy" people. Most of them (except say the actual BD owners at AVSforum) know very little about the format war. They all say this:

- bluray has 1080p, hd-dvd only 1080i!!! truhd for life! (ive even heard someone say hd-dvd was only 720p)
- bluray has 50gig whereas hd-dvd has 30gb. Wrong, there's like 4 or 5 releases on bluray that use 50 gig and as has been shown by HD-DVD releases like Troy, Batman, so on, you can have a longer movie with lossless audio AND extras on a 30gb HD-DVD using VC-1
- bluray has much more studio support! (people dont realize that there's like twice the number of hd-dvd movies out there at the moment)
- bluray has the support of so many manufacturers whereas on HD-DVD you only got a player from Toshiba (useless argument, what's the point of multiple $1000+ players when none of them are good enough to make Bluray better than HD-DVD player that can be found for under $500, and the people saying this can't afford the $1000+ players anyway, so what do they care?)

The other thing, this usually comes from people who don't own a blu-ray player in the first place and will probably not buy one anytime soon, but they insist that "blurray" is better. Go figure.

I know. Fox's support so far has been like what, KoH and X-Men 3? I have no interest in X3 at all. I saw it in theatres, thought it was OK and moved on, no way I'd pay $20-$25 for that movie (even if it was on HD-DVD). And as for KoH, I have the 4 disc Collector's Set that I got super cheap on sale, and the BD doesn't even come with any extras, there's no incentive to buy it Imo. I also have the Die Hard trilogy set with DTS 5.1 and lotsa extras, so if Fox releases that on BD, well too bad, the DVD is good enough (IMHO).

On the other hand, on HD-DVD i have Army of Darkness and Grand Prix and Batman, I really liked Batman, and AoD is an older movie nice to see in HD (too bad no extras ), and Grand Prix is really nice. I'm not sure if Batman and AoD is on BD as well, but that's besides the point. I am just super happy with my $200 360 add-on.

And in furthurance of that argument, Toshiba already has triple layer HD-DVD in the pipes, 45GB strong.
