CaLL of Duty (original), and Call of Duty: United Offensive -

I have tried all the drivers from 96.89 to 97.44, and I can't fix the crappy frame rates I get in the ORIGINAL Call of Duty and United Offensive. At times it drops to low 20FPS and even teens. Before I got the 8800GTS, my 7900GT almost never dropped below 100FPS (all same ingame and Nvidia CP settings). I know that it is a specific driver problem and not my system, as currently my 8800GTS never drops below 60FPS in F.E.A.R with 4AA/16AF, High Quality CP setting and 1600X1200 resolution!! Moreover, Oblivion at 1600X1200 ran flawlessly. Please help, as COD is my fav. game.

Got it to work by setting general compatibility to AA with nhancer. Strange that it needed that with the profile to work.

If you have dual monitors, make sure the D3 profile and/or the global profile are set to accelerate only a single display. For some reason, they default to dual-display performance mode. It shouldn't matter if you have a single display though.

Also, as an update, now that I've gone from the 97.44s to the 97.28s and now back to the 97.44s, I haven't seen any glitches in Oblivion. I played for quite a while last night. I installed some mods though and I'm using 8xAA now while I think I might have been using 16xAA before.

Something on your end here. I installed and played both COD and COD UO and I am seeing 200 - 250 FPS 99% of the time. Extremely smooth with 4aa, 16 af, GC and Trans AA on.

i have the same problem with my 8800gtx. i run fear, bf2, cod2 flawlessly but the original cod barely runs... it drops to 10fps sometimes then goes back up to 200 and then drops back down........so it's not playable for me. hope this is a driver issue.

i am using 97.44. at first i used ntune to check for any temp differences from last set of drivers. it is uninstalled now for a few days and no difference. i have tried all sets of drivers available for 8800 series and COD+UO is a no go for me.....well i shouldn't say it's unplayable but when it drops down to 10 fps its hardly playable and sometimes doesn't recover back up to playable frame rates so i have to exit out of it. yet i play fear all maxed out no probs.

Are you using the dual core patches for the OS and that chip? I cant imagine how it could drop to 10. I noticed some strange performance when having ntune installed. Are you using vsync?

I'm not sure about delcruz, but I have never even had Ntune installed. I strictly use Rivatuner 16.2, and I always have Vsynch disabled in Nvidia CP. BTW, what delcruz has described is exactly what I am experiencing.

CoD and CoD:UO seem to be working fine for me with the 97.44s and I also have ntune installed. I think I'm running version 1.4 though. I'll check for later patches and install them if there are any.

Is it only in certain areas where you have the issue or is it everywhere? Also, can you upload a save point for an area you're having issues in?
