What really bothers me is this whole Games For Windows - if SCDA and RS: Los Vegas are a sign of things to come then all of these convenient Xbox 360 ports wont support AA. Thats lazy and that sucks - and lay off the bloom it just makes things fuzzy.

Yeah, I'm worried it's going to kill gaming on a PC rather than revive it. Both games have made me feel like going out an purchasing the console version. That's not a good sign since in general, I don't like gaming on a console.

Don't do that - the industry wins. PC gaming is so much better than a crappy console anyways. Crysis will prove that - games should be developed at higher resolutions on the PC, then dumbed down for the console.

Make sure to try the hotfixes listed here:

http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/index.php

Although my problems started with the install of the 8800 and not due to an MS issue, these hotfixes have really helped improve that stability of my system.

Also, as an update, now that I've gone from the 97.44s to the 97.28s and now back to the 97.44s, I haven't seen any glitches in Oblivion. I played for quite a while last night. I installed some mods though and I'm using 8xAA now while I think I might have been using 16xAA before.

I'll try this and post back here later,by the by,I want to play some games on my 19" LCD (Warcraft 3,and Throne Of Darkness as examples),but everything defaults to the Dell,How do I get games to play on my 4:3 rather then my 16:10 LCD ?? TIA

I'm not sure. In the old control panel you could pick the monitor you wanted the games to run on but with the new CP I'm not sure how you do that. I don't currently have two connected so I can't play around with that.

I'm on an Core 2 Duo, but I do have the one that came out today installed. Just tried and it still doesn't work. What all driver versions have you tried it on? I've only tried 96.89 and 97.44 so far, but I know I read somewhere about someone complaining about slowdowns in KOTOR with 97.02...

Not sure if its a driver issue or not , but in BF2142 i cant enable 8xAA to work from within game .. when i select 8xAA it reverts back to 4xAA.
so i have to override the 8xAA option from CP.

I got my KOTOR running! Appears to have not been a 8800 issue after all. I am not quite sure what exactly fixed it since I did too much at once. (my bad)

I killed a lot of Creative's processes, NVTray, and forced sound to software. (Then switched that off and set EAX to 3 once in-game)

Not sure what part of that helped, let me know how it goes.
