Does anyone know if this can happen? I find it incredibly stupid that the test would say my C2D @ 2.7GHz is worse than a P4 at 3GHz, but I'm not surprised given the other crap UBI has pulled.

If it's not the widescreen hack (renaming the .bin file), then mabe that's it? I have tried every different resolution, and turning HDR on and off, but it does not work (and the game looks terrible too) unless I use the Oblivion trick.

BTW, my game plays very smoothly all of the time (around 60+ fps with HDR + 2xAA @ 1680x1050 with the Oblivion trick) except in that first screen on the first level that enemies come in. At that point it dips into the teens sometimes.

I really have to say that this game (as is) is pretty much unplayable for me. With the oblivion trick it looks amazing until the shadow corruption takes over. However, that is obviously not a workable solution either.
I guess I'll try uninstalling and re-installing, than I'm gonna give up until a new patch comes out, or new drivers adress fixes for the game.

Well the UBI check is lame in that they have it just looking for a 3Ghz CPU. My conroe 6300 @ stock gets the X, but overclocked to 3.6 comes up just fine. They arent looking at the actual CPU but just checking raw Mhz. Don't sweat it. First of all I'd reinstall the game from scratch update to 1.03 and see how it runs without the widescreen hack and the oblivion fix to enable AA. Using that fix kills performance for everyone and the widescreen hack changes the .bin, using I believe a 1.0 .bin so some of the settings may be different to the game. I enjoy the gameplay so much I have gotten over using AA in it for now, until they officially add support for it, if ever.

Well I got it to work, had to remove the patch 1.1 for it to work. As for the MX440, I put that in after the issue. It just appears to be a problem with 1.1 for me. No clue why.

On a side note the 8800 GTS runs like crap in Lineage 2, 13-20FPS, in most areas.

For what problem?

Just to note the intro movie in The Godfather is still screwed up even with 97.92, however the game play is fine.

I've got a work around for the 8800GTX + UT2K4 64Bit issue...

Changing the rendering path from D3D9 to OpenGL in the UT2004-WIN64.INI file allows you to run the game now, only issue is the graphics are very poor compared to the D3D9 render and performance is in the toilet. ( Compared to an X1950XTX )

Nvidia really needs to get their heads out of their ass's and release some decent drivers instead of this alpha driver they pass off as good...

Its pretty amazing that 3 TWIMTBP games do not work with the 8800GTX...

In GTR2, driving at night generates textures that flash on and off. It happens at some tracks, and sometimes only in certain driving views, and sometimes in the replays as well.

In other words, it's almost impossible to pin down what's happening and when, but my dad's 7600GS doesn't have this problem...

Well it is a PB issue as the "fix" does stop the stuttering from happening. The stuttering issue being that the game freezes every 3 seconds (or longer if you change to /pb_sleep 500).

What your refering to is a overall problem that causes piss poor performance, not stuttering.

XFX 8800GTX OpenGL 64Bit

XFX 8800GTX D3D 32Bit

Definate performance loss compared to D3D... Fricken Nvidia and 64bit support...

to any1 struggling with a delay in cod&coduo

ok m8 i recently bought an 8800gtx and suffered same issues in cod and coduo a freezing every couple of seconds used pb sleep and it made it do it less but still unplayable in my eyes
heres how i fixed it i presume like me you are using a dual core cpu if so download nhancer and set cod exe or coduo exe to use single core only on the cpu setting at the bottom and bobs yer uncle no more delays happy days are here again dont ask me why the 8800 triggers this problem but seems cod & uo are not compatible for dual core
anyway hope this works for you as it did for me

now to my problem lol how do i run cod & coduo in 1680x1050 as there is no setting for it i have tried a config file but the game seems to run on 1fps lol any help please
