And this seems to be what Final Fantasy 7 looks like on Nvidia's latest drivers for 8800GTX. Notice that the characters are black/textureless.

When I run the same game on my laptop through the network the characters appear fully textured and the dialogue box have a blue background. Also there's a little red pointer where the exit is.

To All: ImageShack.us allows to post THUMBNAILS in forums. Why do you post links to full picture instead?

Exclamation Re: Summary of GeForce 8800 Game Issues

I am having big slowdowns in oblivion with my 8800GTS 640... Anyone with these problems too? I can't even run the game with the lowest settings. sometimes i will get about max 3fps...

I also have problems with flatout 2 when there are a lot of things moving on the screen. It becomes a bit laggy. Not much but still annoying.

Sometimes i get 10000 points in 3dmark 03 other times about 17000. Especially 10000 when the card is over 60 celsius. May have fixed the problem so now i get 15000 or higher...

3dmark 06 also seems to do this. first time running it was almost smooth. Now it is just going a lot slower.

I also get failures in Just Cause.

F.E.A.R. Works perfect with all settings at max in 1280x1024...

I can run oblivion basically maxed out at 2560x1600 and still average around 40fps i think.

and I get about 8221 3dmark06 points. cpu is limiting me on this one.
My card idles at about 72c (8800gtx) and load around 81c

Your scores shouldnt fluctuate so much, unless your running alot of crap in the background, and it would need to be ALOT to knock 7,000 of your 3dmark03 score.

Default Re: Summary of GeForce 8800 Game Issues

I know but i have shut down all things and i just formatted my harddrive a week ago. I have also tried drivercleaner. but it didnt work

btw - I have no soft shadows in F.E.A.R when turned on

i also have randomly blinking lights in Roller Coaster Tycoon 3. Especially on stairs

Rune - HOV freezes and goes into blue screen of death when i shut the game down

Crashday demo is giving terrible framerates sometimes

first 3dmark 06 score was about 2000... Somethings wrong. It could be the drivers left from my 6600... but i have tried drivercleaner. and it didn't seem to work. Any other suggestions?

I found out why it ran so slow and unstable. my P4 is working hard and the graphics card is hotter than the older one. the processor temperature is over 90 celsius. If processor is over that on a P4. Performance will be decreased... gotta get a new cooling system...

Yes i agree

Found a replacement so now it runs about 60 celcius when it is idle. compared to about 70-80 before. and it is taking almost any game that i throw at it still i have the graphical failures in some games.

Highest temperature i recorded with the old cooler was 97 celsius :O

Ï'm having problems with 2 games, fear and rainbow 6 vegas, both freeze up after a while and gives me a weird blocky white mesh sort of on the screen and it will either reboot my machine directly or i have to do it myself,i sometimes hear the audio loop a little bit in the backround during these lockups. I cant alt+tab out of it or open the task manager, just press the button. The strange thing is that i can sometimes play vegas for allmost an hour before it happens so i dunno whats up.

I know others have had similar problems and others the games run fine for on similar hardware. My temps are fine ,the card idles at 51 c,around 70c load.Of all the games i play these 2 or the only ones that do this and im just wondering if anyone found a sollution to the problem or if waitng for a new driver is the best way to go?

I tried nhancer but that didnt help. Ive also shut down one of the cores manually in the taskmanager while running the game but again that didnt help either. Can there be another reason for this than the gfx drivers ? My ram is on asus qvl list for my motherboard and the rest of the system should be up to it.Any help / advice would be appricciated

Im running the latest bios for my motherboard, linkboost is off ,spread spectrums aswell and it doesnt matter if i run unlinked or link mode, default or overclocked,it happens anyway.

I'm not sure. my system plays F.E.A.R at max settings in 1280x1024. Maybe there is a failure on your 8800? Some people had problems with dual core processors.. But if nothing changes when some new drivers arrive i think you need to send your 8800 back and get a new one.

Yea i spoke to bfg's support last night and he said the same thing ,he didnt have anything else to offer apart from the normal powersupply/driver cleaner bit,he was a damn nice guy and he tried anyway. He did say however that there's been a lot of technical glitches that they cant really explain at this point because the hardware is so new.In my case the reason why im not positive about it being driver related is that sometimes when i do get these garnled screens/reboots the screen is white even during post and it continues to load xp that way.

All i get then is this weird mosaic pattern that keeps changing and i have to switch it off completly to make it boot normally.Gonna try another pci-e card in my rig over the weekend to make sure it isnt something else causing it.(yea i know that i cant rule out the psu but it will give me enough reasons to rma and not wait for the new driver)Time will tell, the BFG guy said that there wasnt really anymore bfg 8800gtx to be found in europe at this point due to high demand but ill get my retailer to get me a diff brand if it takes too long.

It kinda sucks though, the other pci-e card is from my mates recording pc and its a x300 ati with passive cooling and atrocious performance so i hope the rma process will be switft otherwise ill go nuts hehe
