Guys, is it normaal to have a crash once and a while in HL2 (and regulary with the fakefactory mod? (V3.6, downing 4 atm))

Also sometimes I have to start a game several times to get it running wthoud the exe has stopped etc.

This is on Vista 64. (101.41 and 101.70 have this behaviour).

Ok, I'll admit it. I'm a donkey. I'm also having problems with Call of Duty United Offensive (CODUO) and I have tried to do this:

Quote:
United Offensive players,
after i installed nHancer, and forced openGL 2.0, and openGL "general compatibility" it runs 10x better!!! it stutters a tiny bit once in awile, but my fps never drops below 75 fps. that's my max refresh at 1600x1200. give it a try. the game is playable once again
Unfortunately, I'm such an idiot I can't even figure out how I'm supposed to use nHancer. Can somebody please just show me in a few steps how to complete the above stated task? Thanks - Ian

homeworld2 does not work for me! I've tried all 9x.xx drivers and I'm currently running 101.02s. the problem I'm having is hardware rendering does not work at all with my 8800GTX and homeworld2.

No fix in 158.16 either.

I just tried 158.16 yesterday, and you are right. However, I am starting to think that it might have to do something with the combination of a 8800 and a AMD processor. I know a few guys with 8800 cards and Core 2s and they are fine after they set the processor affinity to only one core. I however, only have a single core AMD Opteron 146 @ 3GHz so the dual core issue does not apply to me. If anyone has any idea how to fix this please let us know. BTW, I tried all the nHancer tweaks, but to no avail.

WoW still crashes even with the latest WoW patch and WHQL drivers from NVIDIA's official site. Enabling 8x AA and flying around the Skettis area triggers this crash, where the entire computer hangs. Using 2x is the workaround.

Blizzard has acknowledged this problem, which only seems to happen with the 8800 cards and they're working with NVIDIA to fix it. Hopefully there'll be a fix soon, I've been waiting for months now.

Yes - I can confirm this! I'm able to hardlock my pc by landing on a certain platform in terrokar and looking in a certain direction

The workaround worked for me, but the bug is pretty annoying...

I had this bug too (meant I couldn't fish for crawdad there, grrr), but I just installed the 158.19 driver, and was unable to reproduce the crash yesterday in Skettis. Further investigation required to be sure, but looks like the 158.19 may have fixed it.

In gothic 3 with latest 158 driver Depth Of Field effect results in a messy screen with colorized pixels. Moving mouse doesnt move view, so it's totally bad.

Without Depth of Field everything is perfect. Asus 8800GTS. Havent tried any other drivers yet. Someone with same thing? (I hope its not a HW fault)

Does all this mean that games work fine with G7x series cards....?
