I have a Dell Inspiron E1705 and would like to connect it to my Sony KF-50WE610 but I'm not sure if it will work. The DVI connectors on the back of the pc and the tv are slightly different. The pc has the standard 24 small square female holes and one horizontal slot. The Sony tv has the standard 24 small square female holes but has one horizontal slot and one vertical slot.
I'm pretty sure that the pc connector is a DVI-D connector. The Sony manual refers to the connection on the back of the tv as a DVI-HDTV connection. Are these two compatible?
I would love to play my pc games on the 50" tv!
Yes they should be. There are actually a few different types of DVI connectors, so it is probably just a different type.

I'm guessing the TV one is a DVI-I connector, which would still work with a regular DVI cable. Here is a good link to see what the different ends look like.

I didn't wanted to ruin the pictures with writing on them - but you will recognize the applications on the pictures. I included couple websites, joost, photoshop, picasa, Xvid movie, Google Earth, etc.

I just received my 65" of 1080p joy today. Good Lord does gaming rock on this son-of-a-bitch. Thanks to Toshiba and the wife for letting me get it.

Is it hard watching a tv up that high? It seems like you would get a neck ache after a while. Nice tv.
