unable to determine the version....
OK, I know that there are a few threads on a similar vein, but (of course!) this one is different.
I'm trying to install nvidia support for my laptop, which requires the old legacy drivers, and I'm running a 2.6.19 kernel.
The problem I'm having is that I get the error message 'Unable to determine the version of the kernel sources located in /lib.modules/2.6.19/source' and so on. Now I know that nvidia have addressed this problem, as I can install the latest 9631 drivers, but just get no display at all, and the latest beta drivers refuse to install due to my ancient hardware.
So can anyone tell me what entry in what file in the kernel source tree is causing the problem. I tried adding a definition for UTS_RELEASE in includes/linux/version.h, which got me slightly further, but it still failed.
Any pointers would be gratefully received.

Re: unable to determine the version....
In order to install 1.0-7184 on a Linux 2.6.19 kernel, you need to extract the .run package with the --extract-only command line option, change to the newly created directory, edit the file usr/src/nv/nv-linux.h, search for config.h and replace it with autoconf.h, and finally install the driver with ./nvidia-installer.
