Default Ubiquitous freeze-up bug squashed by nvidia-settings

EDIT: Nope, that was not it. Further experiments with the card finally led to the conclusion that it was a case of hardware malfunction. Two electrolyte capacitors on the card looks dodgy. (slightlly expanded on the top of them) If those are for voltage stabilisation and had started leaking, that could of course in turn generate all kinds of strange behaviour from random voltage spikes. (Just wanted to correct the post in the unlikely event that someone in a distant future would read my inane scribblings and be mislead by them.) The new n6200 card from a different manufacturer than XFX works perfectly. Knock on wood.
