Default Unable to load drivers on laptop

Hi.

Yes I am a newbie. I tried to install drivers for my laptop (Presario v6120us) and every time I follow the directions for those using suse (10.2) I loose my desktop. I get a message that "x.0rg is not supported"? -I am reinstalling for the third time as I do not know how to reverse changes when this happens, I know that this is not the exact message. Since I am using a laptop, are the instructions different. Am I supposed to download anything before following those instruction other than the two files given? My card is recognized correctly by the way. Sorry if this doesn't make sense, it is @3:30 am here.
Thank you for any help you can give as I would really like to see the 3d effects.
