Default Xorg freezing with 9629 (backtrace included)

Hey everyone, first off thanks for your hard work on this driver and supporting linux. Being a linux only user I'll never buy a card with any other chipset.
I just recently upgraded to the 9629 driver and have experienced frequent(every day) Xorg lock ups since then. It seems to only happen while idle and thinking it might have been xscreensaver I disabled that, which didn't fix it. For a while I am still able to ssh in so the kernel is still running but eventually it locks up too. Locally I get a screen full of grabled colors and can't switch terminals(ctrl+alt+f1). I verfied my machine can run for days without X as well. The xorg log attached has a backtrace in it that will hopefully be helpful.
Attached Files
File Type: log nvidia-bug-report.log (89.0 KB, 106 views)
File Type: log Xorg.0.log (20.7 KB, 110 views)

I have a few questions:
0) Which nvidia driver version were you using previously where this problem was not present?
1) Does this problem also reproduce with the 1.0-9742 driver?
2) Does this problem persist if you are not using the Composite extension?
3) Was your attached bug report generated while the X hang was present?

Thanks,
Lonni

I am not positive because I have since deleted the file but I am pretty sure it was 8776. I will try reinstalling that version and see what happens.

Haven't tried it, but I will and I'll let you know.

no, it was after a reboot after the crash. Typically I don't catch it in the timeframe where its crashed but ssh still works, but if I do I'll generate another report. In this case the Xorg.0.log was actually Xorg.0.log.old, but I renamed it so the BB would allow me to post it.

I installed the 9742 beta drivers and disabled the Composite extension and it still crashed after running for a couple hours. I could not log in to get the bug report while it was still up. So for now I went back to the 8776 drivers and I'll let you know if I have the same problem with this one.

Just an update, after running 24 hours with 8776, everything seems to be fine.

Is there anything else you would like me to try? 8776 hasn't crashed on me. I really liked the new graphics logos, and the settings dialog by the way.

This turned out to be bad RAM. I started having problems with other stuff later on. Not sure why that particular version of the driver revealed the problem sooner than the other, but i have 9631 installed now(with new RAM) and its been problem free for a while. Thanks anyway.
