Unfortunately, this will take some more time to be finished. So I decided to release the current version as a new beta. You can download it here:

32Bit: www.nhancer.com/downloads/nHancer32_2.4.0_5_Setup.exe
64Bit: www.nhancer.com/downloads/nHancer64_2.4.0_5_Setup.exe

Here’s a short summary of all major the changes since 2.3.x:
  • New logo, icons and “about window” designed by Eberhard Klauke. Thank you very much, Eberhard!
  • Added new SLI modes (Bloom, 3-way and for DX10 exclusively: 4-way)
  • Support of all the latest cards up to the 9600 GT
  • Added OpenGL multi monitor options
  • All new profile management, which allows to override all options in nVidia’s predefined profiles, including AA and AF prevention.
  • Profiles can now be reverted to their original state as they were predefined by nVidia.
  • New “Shadow-Profiles”, which are replacing (overshadowing) predefined profiles automatically, if the user changes a predefined option.
  • The nHancer service is now optional. nHancer runs without the service, but only if started with administrator rights. The installer has the option to install nHancer without the service.
  • Added a text search box to find a profile. Just type away and nHancer will show only profiles matching the entered text.
  • Added a new profile type filter. Click on the filter icon to see all filter options.
  • Several new Anti-Aliasing modes: 8xSQ, 2xQ, 4x9tap
More details about the changes are listed in the enclosed readme file as always.

Additionally, the nHancer forum is online again. I’ve replaced the forum software. This was meant for the restart of the website as well, but you can take a look if you want.

Visit the forum here: forum.nhancer.com
Thanks!! When I get home I will try it

Grestorn, I have noticed something that has changed and I liked the way it was before: I don't like to have lots of icons at the taskbar, so I hide most of them, including nHancer. To show nHancer I use a key shortcut (Ctrl-Alt-H) to the program icon on the start menu. When pressing this shortcut nHancer showed, but with the new version this doesn't work anymore. Any chance to get it back?

This currently only works only if you use the nHancer Service. Sorry....

I don't understand... there is a nHancer service running, just like in previous version. I just hide the nHancer icon (and most others) like I did with previous version. When nHancer was minimized, clicking on the start menu shortcut did the same as right clicking on the taskbar and selecting "show nHancer". This is what is not working now.

Hm, it still works for me... I presumed you are using nHancer without the service (which is possible now), because in that case, a new instance of nHancer can't wake an already running instance.

What exactly happens when you're starting a new instance?

How can I choose to run it with or without the service?. Anyway I have a service called 'nHancer Support', it's automatic and it's running right now. When I try to start a new instance, the cursor changes to hourglass a couple of seconds, and nothing happens.

Hm... you're using XP or Vista without UAC, aren't you?

I think I know what's happening. Since nHancer is started with admin rights, it doesn't need the service and doesn't use it.

Well, I guess I have to do something about that. Thanks for the info!

Grestorn

probably this is not possible, but is there anyway to add DV settings to game profiles?

DV as in "digital video"?

Unfortunately, no. At least not unless I take over the profile mechanism. Same problem as with overclocking and fan control. As long as I leave the driver in charge of activating profiles, I'm limited to the settings the driver recognizes in profiles.

Taking over the profile mechanism would mean to open a whole different can of worms... I often asked myself if I should do it, but I think it's really not worth it. Not with tools like RivaTuner around.
