Default Max resolution in twinview/xinerama

I own a geforce 6800 gs agp with a dvi and a vga output and am using 2 monitor.

I was thinking about changing one of my monitor for a wide screen one, but one question went to my mind :

With a monitor at 1680x1050 and one at 1280x1024, how can i be sure that my video card these two resolution at the same time ?

Is there a difference for this problem between twinview and xinerama ?

i know that now i have two 1280x1024 so it is already above the max resolution on the video card box (it says : 2048x1536).

Thanks you for your help
