Default PAL on latest drivers?

Firstly I have to say when using Open Suse 10.2 do not download the pre-compilled packages through Yast2 like NVidia recommend. These drivers where extreamly bad and the Nvidia X Control Panel didn't have any options in it.

Anyways, I have now downloaded the latest drivers and installed them and everything is working fine except for TV-Out, I have set my TV-Out to Clone mode and get only a Black and White screen.

How do I change it to PAL?

You are already using PAL there's some bug in the drivers why it becomes black&white. I don't know why that is. Setting the format to NTSC-M can workaround the issue but you have worse image quality (though a higher refresh rate). Most televisions support both PAL and NTSC only very old ones support one of them. (if it was on NTSC on a old TV you wouldn't even see an image)

In Windows my TV gave my black and white unless I set it to PAL and yes its quite old, made around 1990 i'd guess. Is there any option to change it to NTSC? I dont mind having bad image quality, I allways have done with the TV-Out, text being unreadable, etc. If so where would I find it? I'd prefer not to edit my X conf as last time I did that X wouldn't start.

Read README of nvidia driver. You can use Option "TVStandard" "PAL-D" or something in your Section "Device".
