Default flickering console

Hi,

I have installed Nvidia drivers in Ubuntu 6.06.1LTS. There is a problem of flickering console after i pres Ctrl+Shift+F1.
There was a workaround for the same when i had Suse 10.1. What is the solution in Ubuntu? Help me.

Thanks in advance,

Please see http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=46678; what was the workaround on SuSE 10.1? Are you using a standard VGA console?
