Default Re: Xorg 7.2 and 9746 freeze

I did it via ssh this morning, xorg was frozen, only mouse was moving around.
It was using all cpu and I had to kill it several times to end it, memory usage was 240MB.
Gdb:
Code:
#0 0x0809683a in DeletePassiveGrab ()
#1 0x0807033d in FreeResource ()
#2 0x08096b36 in DeletePassiveGrabFromList ()
#3 0x0808cdd5 in ProcUngrabButton ()
#4 0x0813d571 in XaceCatchDispatchProc ()
#5 0x0808640f in Dispatch ()
#6 0x0806e855 in main ()
I don't understand what this output means (are those some procedures that are stuck in infinite loop?).
Using xorg 7.2 from suse repo and nvidia 9742 drivers.
Full gdb output is attached.

Your problem is somewhere in DeletePassiveGrab(). We need someone with access to the driver source code to look in that function for suspicious code.

In my case (as best I understand it), the driver is waiting for the card to process all of the instructions currently in its FIFO queue before adding more. The card, however, doesn't process them. The driver loops forever while the card does nothing. I don't know if that's what's happening in your case but it's something worth checking out.

It is possible to be Xorg problem, not in drivers? If I update xorg to recent version (higher build of 7.2 from suse repository) I get such freezes more often (it happened twice this day - max 6 hours of uptime in graphical envirionment). Or maybe it is a mixture nvidia driver / xorg bugs?
I'm going to try install xorg 7.1 on suse 10.2 (if it is possible), because honestly I can't stand this anymore.

I switched to nv driver yesterday to see if it has problem like nvidia.
For now 10 hours of uptime an it seems stable (using updated xorg 7.2, which has huge problems with nvidia driver). However graphical interfance is less responsive.
I'm going to use nv driver for the rest of day so I can certainly say it is working well.

Ok, finished testing with nv driver, there is no such problem as high memory usage or screen freeze. However nv driver performs much worse on my 6600gt than nvidias one.
