Your English is great - better than my French! I can say one phrase and that's it.

Thanks for your help, but I'm afraid it didn't work. I tried changing boardname and driver in my xorg.conf to match yours, but then it just booted into text mode. So I used Sax2 to reset it back to the default Framebuffer.

Maybe its because I used these instructions:
http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:NVIDIA_Driver_install_howto
And got the drivers from YaST instead of installing them myself.

How do I manually install them? And doesn't that mean I have to recompile the kernel every time I update the drivers, or something?

Ok ,please ,verify your module section too ,i've seen that the Load "/usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions/nvidia/libglx.so" is not present ,try to fix it too ,and for a better help, tonight ,i'll install suse10.2 on my system ,and i'll notice down ALL i will do from the install process to the driver is working ,then I'll post it to you so that you will see if you've done all the steps.
I've had suse 10.2 ,but no for a long time ,but I do remember that the driver and the video-card worked properly..Please ,excuse me for having been so slow to reply ,I was not at home this WE and friday too ....I'm at work now ,and I will be at home on 3'oo PM,then I install Suse ,then I tell you what,Okay?

See ya !

EDIT : I've just seen this section in your conf file :
Section "DRI"
Group "video"
Mode 0660
EndSection

delete it too! this is in conflict with ths driver ,in fact DRI means " DirectRenderingsmth",and you want to load "nvidia ",not "DRI"

EDIT : I WAS WRONG WITH DELETING THE DRI SECTION, PLEASE ,EXCUSE MY POOR IDEA ....

Hello, excuse me for having been so long...
Here is the french translated page of the SUSE WIKI : http://en.opensuse.org/NVIDIA
Another stuff:I don't understand something ,i've installed suse 10.2,and i can't have the 3d effect on desktop, therefore ,the 3d is activated ,but the "3D hardware activate" button is greyed....When I run "glxgears" in a terminal ,i've got good result ,that lets me think the 3D is well on...STRANGE.......
