Hey, I have an Asus 7800GTX that idles at around 58C. The default clock settings for the card are 430/1200. When I overclock the card using Asus Smartdoctor or Rivatuner or Coolbits the settings will be accepted and dispaly for a period, but after a duration or even a restart the settings go back to default. I obviously have use settings after reboot on... Does anyone know why this might be occuring?
Thanks |

Does it just go back and stay permanently at the default speeds?
Or is the card throttling ?

It reverts back to default settings every time.
Also to add, I have formatted multiple times (not due to this issue) and after each format I try again this issue remains. I usually just give up, but this time I was hoping to figure out why. |

Yeah, it's a known bug. I am using the 97.44 set and it kind of does the same thing for me. It keeps the core overclock, but not the memory, cutting it in half. I have to reset it after every reboot. Are you using Rivatuner? If so, do you have the little check box about apply at startup checked? I also force Performance 3D.

I am using asus smartdoctor, and as I said above I am completely aware of keep settings after reboot option in all overclock programs. I don't really think this problem is driver related as I said above I have tried over several formats using many different drivers.
