Question Ubuntu freeze.

I've an HP dv6000z( AMD ) laptop and after I install Ubuntu 6.10, it just freezes up. Screen is blank.

I read several forums, understand this a video-driver issue.

Pl advice.

Default Re: Ubuntu freeze.

Try this.

When grub comes up, choose your kernel and press "e". Then find the kernel line and press "e" again

try adding either of these to the end of your boot string:

pci=noacpi pci=usepirqmask

OR (well, you could do AND if you like)

press enter, then "b" to boot.

Does it still lock up?
