Default debian amd64, geforce 7600gs, driver x86_64 1.0-9746

Hello all,

I installed debian amd64 on the following machine:
amd64 FX-55
asus a8n32-sli
asus en7600gs silent

Default instalation works fine, the graphic driver used is:
vesa
1280x1024

Default installation works fine.

Then I installed nvidia driver version x86_64 1.0-9746, no problems during installation.

The issue is that it is impossible to have the card working with a resolution higher than 800x600

The log error in xorg.0.log says 1280x1024 is not a valid mode.

Help please!

Please start X with the following command:
startx -- -logverbose 6

and then generate and attach an nvidia-bug-report.log.

thanks,
Lonni

You didn't start X with the command that I provided, however its clear that the EDID in your CRT is broken:
(--) NVIDIA(0): @@@ (CRT-0)
(--) NVIDIA(0): @@@ (CRT-0): 400.0 MHz maximum pixel clock

You'll need to set UseEDID to false. See the driver README for more information.

Thanks,
Lonni
