How do you read GPUCoreTemp from the second GPU using the nvidia-settings commandline interface?
I can read the temperature from the first GPU using "nvidia-settings -q GPUCoreTemp" or "nvidia-settings -q [gpu:0]/GPUCoreTemp". And the nvidia-settings GUI shows me the temperature for both of the GPUs. But "nvidia-settings -q [gpu:1]/GPUCoreTemp" does not show the temperature for the second GPU. Can anyone help? |

Does it show up when you do a "nvidia-settings -q all" ?

I am having this identical problem using my Quadro 4600's.
viztesting:~ # export DISPLAY=:0.0 viztesting:~ # nvidia-settings -q GPUCoreTemp Attribute 'GPUCoreTemp' (viztesting:0.0): 56. 'GPUCoreTemp' is an integer attribute. 'GPUCoreTemp' is a read-only attribute. 'GPUCoreTemp' can use the following target types: X Screen, GPU. In my '-q all' there are no other temperature identifiers, and in the GUI I am able to see both core temperatures. I have tried this both with and without the SLI bridge. my nvidia-bug-report.log is gzipped at: http://www.belongt0.us/nvidia-bug-report.log.gz edit: Though the CPU's do say AMD Engineering Sample, these are just thermal test kits from AMD and have been proven to have full functionality. edit #2: on line 1948 of the nv bug report... it begins to say that only 1 gpu would be used for this screen... this is only because I currently have the SLI bridge removed. Though, still in the gui, I am able to see the thermals of the second gpu. |

I'd like to see the output from running:
nvidia-settings --query all |

I think it's somewhere in the jungle of the nv-bug file, however:

Attached is my nv-bug file... I didn't see the ability to attach files earlier.
edit: had to gzip it, to be within file size limits. |

Turns out I just needed to learn how to use the tool.
viztesting:~ # nvidia-settings -q [gpu:0]/GPUCoreTemp Attribute 'GPUCoreTemp' (viztesting:0[gpu:0]): 55. 'GPUCoreTemp' is an integer attribute. 'GPUCoreTemp' is a read-only attribute. 'GPUCoreTemp' can use the following target types: X Screen, GPU. viztesting:~ # nvidia-settings -q [gpu:1]/GPUCoreTemp Attribute 'GPUCoreTemp' (viztesting:0[gpu:1]): 58. 'GPUCoreTemp' is an integer attribute. 'GPUCoreTemp' is a read-only attribute. 'GPUCoreTemp' can use the following target types: X Screen, GPU. ... looks like I need to balance the airflow in my chassis some .thanks for the time. |
