Default interrupt issues with 1.0-9746

I am seeing a constant 48% to 51% CPU usage from generated interrupts. According to vmstat -ia, the only device generating interrupts is nvidia0. The interrupts using up the CPU time goes away after I kill X.

The card in question here is a GeForce 6800 GS.

Any suggestions or ideas?

What does your xorg.conf look like? Any odd messages in /var/log/messages and/or /var/log/Xorg.0.log?
