Are they double-data'ing MGS4 also?

Edited to add link.

http://kotaku.com/gaming/ps3/oblivio...dge-229496.php

(Adding multiple sets of data on the BR disc to compensate for slower bluray seek time, therefore negating BR storage advantage)

Taken out of context. This phrase yet appears in another AthlonXP1800 thread.

huh? just because oblivion doesnt take up the advantage, doesnt mean other games cant.

To be fair, the quote may be out of context. But the point he was trying to make is very similar to what Kojima said.

^True. Kojima says that 20gigs is not too big for him and his team. Thats like saying we will need more than 20gigs. And with that paragraph about the sound stuff... well, we can partially know why.

Well, movie or not, it is still one of the best games, and will forever sell like there is no tommorow.

since when does mgs have gigs of cutscenes and uncompressed audio? MGS cutscenes are real time.

i'm aware of that, i'm saying that now, needing mgs to have "HD" cutscenes and uncompressed audio will require gigs of audio and several hundred scripts if it's anything like mgs3. play for 5 minutes, script, 5 minutes later get to play for another 5 minutes... am i paying for a history lesson or a game? i'm not saying i didn't enjoy the game, just felt like snake eater got a little carried away.

i also read that same thing that moo was saying, that they need to compensate for the BD seek times by adding multiple sets of the same info. and between that and the uncompressed audio, require large amounts of >20gb to be stored. that's why so many ps3 games are being so heavily padded, push the data to the outside of the disc to counteract drive speed.

I was just wondering about your statement is all. MGS never had "gigs of cutscenes" and I highly doubt MGS4 will. I think you are putting too much emphasis on the sound/audio of the cut scenes, and not the actual gameplay sound which kojima is referring to.

Read the sound quote I posted..
