I tried what you said but same thing.
What is your agp aperture size? I set mine to 256MB and my graphic card has 128 MB ram.

So it seems to be related to my chipset / graphic card combination, nothing I can do about it. Maybe someone from nvidia would know what this XID stuff means, but I doubt they are still reading this thread

With 2.6.18.2-34 kernel did you have the same problem?

Never tried that on .18. I'm going to do it now.

Nope, changing kernel doesn't help. Again, tried with nvagp and agpgart.
The other thread was closed, because someone was not following instructions, which were given by netllama several times. But still don't know what does this XID messages represents.

I tried my best, I don't know anything else to suggest for your case...
Sorry for couldn't help you with BackingStore my friend!!

Maybe that's why it isn't enabled by default in the driver...

Thank you for your efforts. How much performance gain you get with backingstore enabled anyway?

Give me a moment to check what happens without it...

Another question:
Do you know anything about CPU frequency scaling?? Or any of you guys?

Ok back again...
I check it out and without backingstore beryl's benchmark gave me 2fp/s less
and in Racer game 2-3 fp/s less and also a less smoother feeling overall...

But believe me kriko it's not a thing worth dying for!!
Just helps a bit the overall visual behaviour...
Don't know about heavy usage... maybe there backingstore helps more...

I'm an overclocker so don't use it myself, but there's a good article about it here.
