I don't even think Sony makes PS3 HDMI cables, correct me if I'm wrong I believe this is only for component.

The voiding warranty if you don't use a Sony tv is probably bs too. They never asked me which TV I was using when they wanted me to send mine in. I never ended up sending it in since I never had a problem anymore though.

The Sony PS1 was notorious for fried systems when using early Mad Catz controllers. I've seen two systems that had to be sent back to the factory from this issue.
