Default GTX8800 vs Quadro FX5500

Hi all

I've doing trials and benchmarks of both cards and I'm getting strange results out of SPECperf 9.0.3. For real world apps (oil & gas type apps) the GTX8800 seems to fly compared to the FX4500 and FX5500 and, for the most part, the trial was quite successful. But for SPECperf, the GTX8800 performed very poorly. How can this be explained?

Also, SLI'ing the FX5500 seems to have no benefit on 1.8776 but a lot of benefit on 1.9746, were there performance bugs fixed for SLI and the FX5500 between these releases? (We can't actually use 1.9746 as it breaks one of the apps we use.)

Thanks
