Default Got my Wii

Well I got it today. I hooked it up and it is really nice. I haven't even unwrapped Zelda yet. I have no SD card yet I'll have to get it along with a component cable. I love Wii Sports. It is the best IMO.

But networking blows. I don't know why but the Wii just can't connect properly to my wireless network. No other device has a problem. I had to press "try again" like 3-4 times before it connected to get the update. It is barely usable for me. It must have a really crappy antenna I am only 12 feet from the wireless router. I tried it in 3 places and there was no difference. Oh well back to Wii Sports

No it isn't. There is a built in memory for saves and updates etc, but I want to have a 2-4gig for saves and downloadable games.

Nope. It's got internal flash memory.

EDIT: Heh, beat me to it. Have fun with the Wii. Zelda is great.

Solved the networking problem. Not sure why, but if I don't set the router to a fixed channel (11 as suggested by Nintendo on their support page) the console just can't seem to connect. It seems the wii is not too friendly with the automatic channel settings of my wireless setup.

Played a bit of Zelda (2h45m worth lol) and I like it so far. The only 2 things I kind of don't like are the camera controls (I can't seem to invert the Y axis when in look around mode) and I miss the ability to actually move the camera around the character with the other analog stick like you can do in Splinter Cell. Other than those 2 things I am enjoying the game I need to order the component cable ASAP .

Yeah, the camera in Zelda frustrated me to no end until I discovered that by tapping Z you can center it behind again. It's not perfect, but at least you can be looking the same direction as Link.

Might want to check your local Gamestop/EB tomorrow. I've heard some stores are getting them. If you're going to try, show up early.

Unless you plan on downloading every game that comes out on Virtual console, you really, really don't need an extra SD card. 512MB is plenty. You just don't need it...

As far as wireless networking, my Wii connects without a hitch. I do remember that I had to change the channel it connects on. Mainly becasue every device uses the #6 channel, so it sort of gets jammed up. Try a different channel.

lol, Zelda's controls REVOLVES around Z targeting. I wouldn't be able to play it for one second without it. I'm surprised you didn't find this out sooner.

I discovered it pretty quickly, but it drove me nuts until then.
