Default Post your Blu-ray discs here

The below comment taken from betterdan's HD DVD thread. I initially listed both in that thread but I was politely informed that the two formats shouldn't be mixed. Oops...

I thought it would be good to list the Blu-ray discs you have so if anyone was thinking about getting one they could check here and see if someone else owned it and ask how the quality was or anything else.

Here is my list so far:

Aeon Flux
AvP (Alien versus Predator)
Behind Enemy Lines
Black Hawk Down
The Covenant
The Descent *
Dinosaur *
Employee of the Month *
Fantastic 4
The Fifth Element
Flightplan *
Fly Boys *
The Gridiron Gang *
The Guardian *
The Haunted Mansion *
Ice Age: The Meltdown *
Into the Blue
Invincible *
Kingdom of Heaven
Million Dollar Baby *
Resident Evil: Apocalypse
Silent Hill
Stargate *
Swordfish
Tears of the Sun
Tomb Raider
Ultraviolet
Underworld: Evolution
The Wicker Man *
X3: The Last Stand

* means I didn't already own the standard def DVD when I purchased it

Thanks...I'm blaming y'all. I was going to wait until a single format was decided on but after reading some of y'alls comments, decided to give it a try. Now the ice is broken and I can't stop. I was also not going to buy hi-def versions of movies I already own but heh, that didn't stick either.

Kinda off topic, but how's Black Hawk Down, PQ/audio wise? I have the DVD version, but I kinda want it in high definition goodness.

Kung Fu Hustle
Underworld Evolution
Silent Hill
Kingdom of Heaven
Talladega Nights (PS3 pack in and uncut)

I can no longer edit my initial post so here's the list updated with the codec used and the bitrate (if known). On the movies where they don't list the bitrate, I didn't try to guess what it is. The realtime display during the movie playback varies so much I'm not sure how to come up with a value for that.

Current list as of 02/13/2007

Aeon Flux (MPEG-2)
Alien versus Predator (MPEG-2@18mbps)
American Psycho (MPEG-2)
Behind Enemy Lines (AVC@18mbps)
Black Hawk Down (MPEG-2)
The Covenant (MPEG-2)
The Departed (VC-1)
The Descent (AVC)
Dinosaur (MPEG-2)
Employee of the Month (AVC)
Enemy of the State (MPEG-2)
Fantastic 4 (MPEG-2@18mpbs)
The Fifth Element (MPEG-2)
First Blood (AVC)
Flightplan (VC-1)
Fly Boys (MPEG-2@24mbps)
The Gridiron Gang (MPEG-2)
The Guardian (AVC)
The Haunted Mansion (MPEG-2)
Ice Age: The Meltdown (MPEG-2@18mbps)
Into the Blue (MPEG-2)
Invincible (MPEG-2)
Kingdom of Heaven (MPEG-2@24mbps)
Ladder 49 (AVC)
The Marine (MPEG-2@21mbps)
Million Dollar Baby (VC-1)
Phonebooth (MPEG-2@26mbps)
Reign of Fire (AVC)
Resident Evil: Apocalypse (MPEG-2)
Silent Hill (MPEG-2)
Species (MPEG-2)
Stargate (MPEG-2)
Stealth (MPEG-2)
Swordfish (VC-1)
Tears of the Sun (MPEG-2)
Tomb Raider (MPEG-2)
Ultraviolet (MPEG-2)
Underworld: Evolution (MPEG-2)
The Wicker Man (VC-1)
xXx (MPEG-2)
X3: The Last Stand (AVC@18mbps)

That's because it has a variable bitrate.

Even the movies listed with their bitrate on the back of the cover have variable bitrates (what is stated is the average bitrate).

Talledga Nights
Stealth

I'm not a movie wh0r3 like OWA, but I wouldn't mind getting a few more to see what they look like. If you had to choose a movie that was good in video and audio quality, and the movie itself was decent, what would you pick? I'd like to pick up some more titles, but I don't want to pick a movie up just because it looks and sounds good, but the movie itself sucks.
