BTW, I picked up Planet of the Apes (2001) on release week and just recently had a chance to watch it and unforutnately IMO it was not up to true Blu Ray standards. Quality was not the greatest I've seen compared to other Blu Ray titles but maybe you'll see different
I think the 50% off applies to ordering directly from the Amazon store. I ordered the 6 movies earlier this morning and should get them tomorrow (at least, that's what the order form said anyway -- guess I'll know tomorrow for sure ). They were all in stock and It'll usually tell you if there is a waiting period. BTW, I've never had anything from Amazon take more that a couple of days but I don't order from there very often.

Yeah, Planet of the Apes only got 3.5 stars from hidefdigest on the video but I've decided to slowly start replacing my current DVD collection and figured the 50% off sale was too good to pass up.

Miami Vice looks perfect actually, exactly as it did in the theater. Do I like it when directors overuse grain? No...but that doesn't mean the transfer isn't flawless. Hell even the muffled dialogue is present.

I think I see what you're talking about. Look at the screencap. District B13 says ships in 4-6 weeks. Is that what you're talking about? All the ones I ordered just said in-stock and when once I placed the order said it would be delivered tomorrow.

Anyway, no way I'd order something that takes that long but thankfully most aren't like that.

Picked up Hoosiers, The Phantom of the Opera, Memento and heh, Destiny's Child -- Live in Atlanta while picking up a couple of games.

I got interested in Memento when trying to find some answers on the Prestige. Some people mentioned Memento being another difficult to figure out movie so I figured I'd give it a shot.

Ew. I watched it twice, and both times I wanted to rip my eyes out at the end.

Cool, can't wait to check it out.

Anyway, on my order, I was worried about Amazon's shipping since 4 of them were being delivered by DHL and I had never heard of them. Well, those 4 arrived around 9am this morning and I'm still waiting for UPS to deliver the other 2. So, DHL worked out pretty well this time.

Edit: Got the 2nd part of the order (the part shipped by UPS) just a little while ago so thankfully, everything arrived next day.

Good to hear Owa. I've had experience with DHL once befor and delivered my package around 10am so they are a pretty quick service from what I can tell. Let me know what you think about Planet of the Apes once you see it. I'm going to try to head out today to BB to pick up Casino Royale since BlockBuster will not carrry available for rental for awhile

It ended up not being what I expected. When you said you were disappointed in it, I thought it might be really grainy or something. That wasn't the issue for me but I'm not quite sure how to describe what the issue is. For the lack of a better way of putting it, it mostly looked "flat" to me. The picture seemed okay (didn't look noisy/grainy/etc.) but there didn't seem to be a lot of depth to it. Is that how you felt about it?
