Default Get a new Motherboard before installing Windows Vista Ultimate Edition x64 OEM?

I'm considering getting a new motherboard before installing Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate Edition x64 OEM. Any suggestions or advice on a good NForce 680i Board?

Why not just get the ASUS P5N-E SLI, it's not like you really need the 32 lanes... Also you will save ~$80-100 by going 650i.

Dude, you start more topics than anyone I've ever seen. This has already been covered a zillion times in the Microsoft Windows Vista forums.

Remember, the search function is your friend.

It depends on what res he's running at. At high res, the extra bandwidth on the 680i pulls ahead of the 650i.

Do you have any evidence to back up this claim?

Okay, here they are.

First, at 1600x1200:

Now, compare that w/ these:

In some cases it's not that big of a difference, but in some it is. And you'd think the gap would only widen with more complex and demanding games like Crysis & Co. on the horizon.

Thanks for the link

Well it looks like FPS don't really have any major improvement... I wonder if other RTSes will show the same kind of improvement seen with CoH?
