Debian GNU/Linux or Ubuntu with Xorg 7.x

If you wish to install the NVIDIA Linux graphics driver on a Debian GNU/Linux or Ubuntu system that ships with Xorg 7.x, please ensure that your system meets the following requirements:

* development tools like make and gcc are installed -Check
* the linux-headers package matching the installed Linux kernel is installed -Check
* the pkg-config and xserver-xorg-dev packages are installed -Check
* the nvidia-glx package has been uninstalled with the --purge option and the file /etc/init.d/nvidia-glx does not exist. -Check

If you use Ubuntu, please also ensure that the linux-restricted-modules packages have been uninstalled. (package doesnt even exist? x_x)

okay now this may sound totally stupid and dumb of me, but im going to ask anyways......

wich stickies are you talking about? the ones where NVIDIA is looking for software engineers? i dont think so... the only "relevant" sticky i could find on the linux forums (this one and linux general) was the one you gave me -_- ...

As for the .log files, how am i supposed to upload them from my laptop? i have console only, and havent installed samba or anything similar yet... XD
