So my westy is acting up (randomly shutting off) and well its not under warrenty because I didn't purchase it from an authorized dealer so Westy isn't covering it. So im looking to get a new TV, which one of these or around the same price would you recommend?
JVC HD-52FA97 52" LCOS or Samsung HL-S5087W 50" |

Well, after extended viewing tonight, I can no longer endorse that Sammy DLP. I was hanging out with my dad for a bit watching a few DVDs and HD DVDs and I could see RBE so bad I got a mild headache and even felt somewhat nauseous.
I can see it really bad, but apparently my dad can't see it at all. Get the LCoS. It's better technology anyway. |

LCoS > DLP imo. Both are great tech though. Is the Samsung wobulated 1080p? Sony wouldn't approve Magus.

I got the Sammy DLP and I love it... got it at a decent price and so far movies look great... 480i sources look better than I was expecting... not great, and not as good as my old CRT HDTV... but pretty good considering.

Go to CC and check out the Samsung. You may not be sensitive to the rainbow effect. Most aren't.
That particular JVC model doesn't have an adjustable iris for controlling brightness. I give the nod to the Sammmy. (I just picked up the Sony KDS-50A2000 yesterday from CC. Outstanding pic!) A little more $$ than the Sammy, but worth it. BestBuy carries the JVC models if you wannna check 'em out. Check out the Cnet reviews for more info-- http://reviews.cnet.com/4323-6531_7-...5.html?tag=dir Better hurry--I just noticed the pre SB sales are ending.

How you would rate the KDS-50A2000 against these? I want to hook up my PC to the TV and I know the A2000 has issues with that. |
