Default Control Panel, WTF is that first icon?

vista sometimes can be so ****ing irritating.

what is that first icon? how do i remove it.

That's weird...I don't have that one..my first one is Add Hardware. The thing I hate is nVidia's icon. Why haven't they made a high res version yet?!? Minor thing I know...but it irritates me.

As for the Nvidia icon, I guess it just shows their driver progress.

Weird I don't have that either. Haha yeah Nvidia needs to come up with hires of their icon. Maybe official driver will have it.

reformat might be little drastic, its amazing how easy vista can get screw up

is there a program that shows current modules loaded in system80?

on xp TweakUI was able to do it, there has to be something for vista?

Can I state the obivous? Did you try selecting it, and hitting delete on the keyboard? You can usually delete a lot of things that don't give you the option via right click. Either that or a cut command might work also.

EDIT: Did a search, and almost all of the control panel stuff is located in windows\system32. Just to a search for *.cpl and it will show you all of the control panel links. Figure out which one it is, and delete it. That should solve your problem.

you can't delete anything from control panel while in control panel just me i tried

and not everything is .cpl, i checked, some are .dll, for instance bitlocker is .dll, parental controls is .dll windows update is .dll and few more don't remember.
