I dont know what I did that was special? I cranked the unit up to maximum. I have it in a Silverstone TJ09 case that's pretty big. Im using Nvidia view for temps sensors. Along with my bios. Ive got a ram fan running, and five case fans. So far Im happy. Oh, I did wipe the stock stuff that came on the cooler and added Acrtic Silver 5 before I installed it.

I wish I could finger out a way to cool that dang XTX8800GTX. She sits at 62all the time.

You guys should be using CoreTemp to measure your CPU temps. That Asus tool can be really inaccurate sometimes. Not saying it is in this case, but it can be.

Look below.

addendum: Installed it. stock temps at 17 degrees, no o/coing yet. Seems to be working.

Yea...that's about average. Let us know what your overclock temps are.

Hyas again. I was able to o/c my 5200+ to 3 gig. Load temps while gaming seemed to remain in the 25 C area. Idle temps around 19 C. I think the cpu itself doesn`t get all that hot as far as power consumption goes. Very happy with the CoolIT.

What are your opinions of the "optimum" temperature you guys are looking for in an OC'd system???

My opinion is any temperature that does not go past a few degrees Celsius lower (around 5c) than the cpu is rated at.

Tho if I planned on upgrading my cpu every 6 months to a year and throwing my cpu out. I wouldn't really care how hot it ran.
