nvidia drivers not recognizing laptop screen (but it finds the VGA out)
I just installed FC6 on my Dell Inspiron 8200 Laptop; works great.
However, when I installed the nvidia drivers (kmod-nvidia-96xx from rpm.livna.org via yum) and restarted X, I got a black screen, as if the laptop was turned off.
I though this was strange, so after playing around with it for a bit I tried plugging a monitor in the VGA out, and lo and behold, there was output, nvidia-accelerated and all.
So here's my problem; Xorg's "nv" driver works fine, but "nvidia" ignores the laptop screen and just draws on the vga out. I'm no X master, but I thought you guys might be able to help.
I didn't find Xorg.0.log very helpful, but maybe you will.
Thanks for your help!

Try adding the following to xorg.conf:
Option "UseDisplayDevice" "DFP"
