Default VistaU upgrade only upgrades the "bit" you have installed?

So if you have 32b XP installed and run the upgrade you get 32b Vista. Now does the 5GB install also have the file for 64b? So if you have a 64b XP installed you get 64b Vista? I am referring to the retail upgrade as well, not OEM.

Only Vista Ultimate boxed retail and Upgrade come with both 32bit and 64bit which are on two seperate DVDs, they are not on the one DVD.
So you have to choose whether to install/upgrade with the 32bit DVD or the 64bit DVD. (and I believe it uses the same key for both)

Right, and the rest only come with 32 bit versions. You can request the 64-bit DVD for a small fee. Your also not restricted to using the 32 bit Vista. You can upgrade a 32-bit XP to 64-bit Vista as long as you have the DVD.

Wait, I can request a 64b copy for a small fee? Who do I contact for that?

I am kind of pissed that they did not make it clear on their Digital Locker site that I would not be getting 64b as well. I clicked the linked for 64b when I bought it and it took me through the process.

I see no where on there where I can pay a fee to get a 64b copy too. Any ideas?

Thanks for the info and shame on me for not getting all this before I bought it. Oh well.
