Firstly I've tried this drivers: 8762, 8774, 9629, 9631. And my fps was low. I know cuz before i had Slackware 10.2 installed and fps was 1500-1600, now i have 700-900. And cant play. I dont wanna show my configs and else cuz ive looked about my problem at many places and I know that isnt problem with my configs or computer. So. Now i am trying to install 7667 drivers and getting this error at my nvidia-installer log: /tmp/selfgz10756/NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-7667-pkg1/usr/src/nv/os-interface.c:12
84: error: structure has no member named `rlim' Can anybody help me to find any ways? With first (about fps) or second (about 7667 drivers) problem... P.S. glxinfo|grep direct shows direct rendering "yes", lsmod|grep nvidia shows nvidia, and my CPU isnt busy. |

What specifically are you trying to play and where are you seeing these FPS numbers?
Also, please generate and attach an nvidia-bug-report.log and post the output from glxinfo. Thanks, Lonni |

I've tried to play Counter strike 1.6, Diablo2 LoD, World of Warcraft. And used glxgears to define fps.
In addition: after i posted here i did some things. I've entered in 2.4.33 kernel (i didnt delete it) and tried to install some drivers. Firstly 9631 - got same result as I have at 2.6.18 kernel, after that I've installed 8XXX and got same result too. So I've tried to install 7667 drivers and did it without any troubles and I was type 'glxgears', got 2300 fps Now I know, where is a problem. It's a problem with drivers. New drivers gave low fps anyway. And here we've got another problem. Why I cant install 7667 driver under new 2.6.18 kernel. Maybe driver cant be used at new kernels? I'm lookin for answers.P.S. I dont wanna paste results of glxinfo and nvidia-bug-report before u will look at my new post. Last edited by BloodyKilled; 02-10-07 at 06:31 PM. |

Older drivers are no longer supported, and are not expected to build against newer kernels.
glxgears is not a benchmark. Please generate and attach an nvidia-bug-report.log and post the output from glxinfo. Thanks, Lonni |

netllama, look. I think that my card cant work good with new drivers under linux (i got problems with new drivers and some games at Windows too. for exam i cant play in CoD2 with new drivers under Windows, just with oldest). Need to say again, my card is Nvidia GF4 - MX440.
U said that glxgears isnt benchmark, but ive tried play too. I can play under 2.4.33 kernel. And cant play under 2.6.18 cuz i said: my fps are low. and if u dun wanna know result of glxgears i said that ive tried to play Diablo 2 for exam (too old game) and ive got many lags How to generate nvidia-bug-report.log? And in addition (cuz i will attach nvidia-bug-report.log after ur answer about it.) I will attach glxinfo result. |

What kind of motherboard are you using?
Have you verified that you're using the latest BIOS? Thanks, Lonni |

This problem seems to be specific to your environment. I'm afraid that I'm unable to reproduce the performance problem you've reported, and I don't have any other suggestions, as I do not have the motherboard you're using to reproduce the problem.
