I have the Livna Repo tacked on to yum, i have all my packages updated and followed the instructions here: http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=72490 After all this, I get an install dependancies list, I accept and get errors. I tried installing kernel.i686, which said it was an older version and did nothing, and kernel-2.6.19-1.2895.fc6.i686 which just says nothing to do... heres the exact screen im getting from the time I lauch the command from root.

I had this same problem and if memory serves me correctly, you have to choose to install the livna driver in Yum before you install the kernel. Once yum looks for dependancies on the livna driver, it will automatically grab the new kernel and install them together. I'm almost certain that's how I got it to work. Try removing the kernel rpm and the same version livna driver that's giving you the problem then re-install the new livna driver and it should pick up the new kernel with it. Hope my memory is not failing me.

find the kernel rpm (/var/cache/yum ......)
rpm -ivh --replacepkgs --replacefiles --justdb /var/..... This will set the rpm for kernel as installed, or remove --justdb and re-install it. Tig |

Install the freshrpms.net nVidia package and be done with having to worry about the version of your kernel.
Freshrpms.net = dkms - autogeneration of module on kernel version change Livna.org = static version of kernel module |
