Most people first had 100.59 before going to 100.64, yes?

Problems with uninstalling 100.59?

I had a black screen and had to reset my pc, then booted in safe mode, used drivercleaner.net, and installed 100.64

Thx

Plus the demo runs great for me. 1920x1200 with 4x/16x and it runs about 30-40fps.
I think it's called procedural geometry creation and not predicted geometry.

Procedural Geometry Creation: Rock structures are not only rendered, but also constructed by the GeForce 8800. This permits the user to move up or down forever, with the GPU continuously streaming out colossal chunks of rock in a wide variety of random shapes.
There's also a demo of it in the DX SDK.

Also if you havent' already check out the presets 1-0 they are spectacular.

Don't start with personal attacks, it will just make whatever you don't like worse. He may be right you know, many GPU features have been useless because they don't perform good enough for a real world application. GeForce had per-pixel shading and lightning, but carmack didn't even advice a GeForce 4 for doom 3 (which is the first game using it extensively).

I thought it was called both? Ah well, procedural sounds cooler anyways

Is the CPU doing anything? To me it seems like the GPU is doing all the work, which might account for the poor fps near waterfalls. Pretty amazing if the GPU is actually doing everything with no CPU involvement.

Some great info is being posted guys, good stuff!!

And about NV_ANDY , man that guy got canned. About time too, all he did was moan in all his posts.

GamblerFEXonlin:
Dont be so soft, the guy was whining all the time, not just this thread. He would bring down the quality of everything he posted in. This thread sure wont miss him.

Going to try get vista on this weekend. So keen to play with this demo and *as much as I might regret saying this* aero as well now

DOes the user have any interaction with the demo, or is it a sit and watch/rotate the camera kinda deal. Are you able to interact with the water..etc.?

You can place the water wherever you like, you can also randomize the geometry, and randomize the textures.

One cool thing I would of liked to see is the ability to place objects to obstruct water.
