Need URGENT C-Unix Help!

Sorry to be so abrubt:

I am running a LiveCD version of Fedora Core 6 and I need to compile some c/c++ code. gcc and g++ commands are NOT working and I need to do this ASAP (assignmente due for tonight midnight).

Is there no C compiler on a LiveCD?

Where can I find/how do I install an alternate compiler?

For the love of god, help me!

The Knoppix livecd has it... not many do other than that.

If you can dl 700 mb of a livecd fast enough, might save you..

packages.txt lists gcc in the packages.

distcc is a frontend for the compiler, may help.

distcc is only useful if you have distcc servers on the network and configured, and have a working gcc on the systems, not the case here.

I am currently downloading the gcc packages through YUM. I hope this will work.

I will contact evilghost if not, as recommended.

Just found this thread, if you still need help PM me, I can even give you access to my server over SSH and let you compile it there. The Fedora equilivent of "build-essential" is what you need. I can also give you my cell number or IM address if you need further help.

Why didn't I think of a UNIX server?!
I have access to one.. not sure if I have permissions to compile though.

I think I am up and running.

Must finish code in order to see. I think it will all go to hell once I star using the fork() primitive.

Let's hope not.
