Default How do you install 64-bit Vista from the upgrade DVD?

So I have the Vista upgrade DVD, a 64-bit processor (E6600), and 4GB of RAM. So I really think I ought to go ahead and upgrade to a 64-bit OS. Problem is how do you do that with the retail upgrade DVD? I don't really see an option to check off when I install Vista.

I thought even the retail versions of Vista only had the 32-bit OS on them and you had to fill out a coupon to get 64-bit.

Only Vista Ultimate has both the 32 bit and 64 bit DVD. If you have any other version, you'll have to send off for the 64 bit version. I've done so and it cost around 10 bucks. Here is the link for it.

or download the 64 bit version from the usual place, and use your cd-key to install it

Yup, pretty painless, though imho it should be free. Still waiting on mine, been over a week now.

yeah I went ahead and ordered it too. Pretty painless. An extra $10 is worth having another physical copy of Vista lying around.
