I had that exact same feeling about 2 weeks ago myself.I'm now on the Asus hybrid P5N32-E SLI Plus board and am very much hoping all goes well.So far so good ,I'm able to get all 4 of my 1Gb OCZ sticks to work together with sli enabled.I do have to set all the voltages manually though (at auto setting the NB is overvolted to 1.5v)

Best of luck to you if you do decide to go this route ,I know I will be keeping a close eye on mine.

Looking at the ASUS fourms there is far less people having problems with the P5N32-E SLi Plus then the P5N32-E so that is a good sign.

They have a few links on the nvidia site with stated problems with a few boards. http://www.nvidia.com/object/680i_hotfix.html

Thanks, guys.

Well, I went with the P5N32-E SLI Plus tonight and ordered next day shipping, so it should get here Wednesday.

No problems to report yet... However, I'm keeping my E6600 at a modest 2.8Ghz. I'm really not going to be into very extreme overclocking. I may do a suicide run every once in a while, but a heavy OC for continuous running is out of the question. I even turn up all the fans in my system when I OC over 2.9Ghz. Otherwise, it's just suicide.

If mine burns out, me and eVGA are going to have words. I'm running my board well within spec (Under 1333mhz FSB), so it has no reason to crap out on me.

This is why I only go with Intel based boards. They are proven stable.

^ Yep, and I knew that already, but the hell of it is that if you want SLI then you have no choice right now. Hopefully Intel will manufacture SLI boards in the future. We can only hope.

I'm hoping this new hybrid board works out for me. If it doesn't, then I'll go back to my stable P5B Deluxe single-card setup and try my best to be happy with it.

Mkay? Running 680i with a Q6600 and 8800GTX no problems at all.

Good luck, and please keep us posted on how this one works out.

I have gone through two RMAs with the EVGA 680i SLI board, both would crash on stock settings. The first one started to crap out after two weeks and finally ended up refusing to boot with C1 after a month, and the other started getting unstable within the first week, so I just gave up. Luckily, my retailer agreed to a refund. I have been running happily on my Gigabyte 965P-DQ6 with zero problems, and I'm not sure I want to go through any more hassle to get SLI, but if there is a stable product, I may yet be swayed.

I'm getting ready to pull the trigger right now on that same mobo. At the same time, I'm struggling with a lot of what I've been reading lately too and am also considering going Intel instead since I'm not 100% sure I will go Sli later on anyway.

I don't know. Between the stories of the EVGA eating ram modules and other stories of slow RAID performance with the 680 chipset, an Intel mobo is looking like a better choice for me.

I have less than 1 week to decide!

I've spent a lot on this setup and really don't want to go back to a single card solution. So, I may give this thing one more shot before I completely give up on it, but it will not be one of the nForce 6 chipsets. I'm through with them. Nvidia has wasted enough of my time and money.
I just recommended this board to a friend, just based on user comments as I don't have one yet. But sorry to hear that crapped out on you again Xion, all the work you put into that...

Judging by the reports of similar issues by a lot of people in the EVGA forums, it's the board that causes memory problems, and not the other way round. I was sure my memory died, but tried it on my current 965 board and it works fine (even beyond its specs). Test the stick you think has failed on another system if you can, maybe it's not dead (although I consider myself lucky, as quite a few people actually had their memory killed by this board).

EDIT: I've just noticed your LAN rig supports both DDR and DDR 2 memory. Have you tried running it with the faulty stick?
