Rip's got enough horror stories to put Stephen King out of business.

Oh let's just say I've had far more than my fair share of "sure overclocking" chips that didn't o/c worth a crap. Equipment that came broken right out of the box *frequently*. Those sorts of things.

I could write a book. I'll spare you.

Xion my 680i crapped out too... I'm hoping for better results from another board.

My 1900XTX lasted 3 months and died, I had to wait over a month for my RMA but I ended up getting a 8800 in return. All my western digital and maxtor drives have died within months and I found out that my monitor did not have all the connections that it claimed after I threw away the box and the return period was over I stripped the crap out of my res cap but swiftech overnighted me a new one

To top it off I just killed my radiator and the replacement that I ordered is out of stock so I had to cancel it because some idiot at SVC.com didn't think my order was very important. So as it stands my rig is down, I have to find another place to order a new radiator and will probably end up getting raped on shipping fees.

Sorry to hear about your problems, guys. I know problems are normal; I've just had a hard time dealing with all the crap that's hit me all at once lately.

I do believe that the more risks you take, the more likely you are to have problems. And for that reason and my most recent experiences, I'm probably going to avoid being an early adopter from now on and give these products a month's worth of user testing before I buy them. It just seems like these companies lately are happy putting a subpar product out on the market for us all to pay for and be beta testers with, and I'm sick of it. I don't have the time or patience for it; I just want a product that works. I'm willing to let one RMA go, but three in order to get a working product is just uncalled for.

So far my two GTSs are running flawlessly- have been since day one. Then again, I don't think there were any problems that plagued them (other than crappy drivers). So that might not amount to much.

Sorry it has been so rough for you. Hopefully this new board will solve all your problems. I just got my new rig with an Opty185 and ASUS A8N32-SLi DLx up and running- but now I'm having issues with the temps. CPU idles at about 47*C and under load it gets up to about 55*C.

Anyhow, I'm hoping this new board does the trick for ya'.

Those temp problems are strange, Redeemed. Normally Opty's run very cool. And that's at stock speeds?

How many case fans do you have, and where are they? What monitoring software are you using?

2.35V. I've tried using less but it was unstable; G.Skill sticks seem to need more voltage than most.

My newly bought P5N32-E SLI Plus is sitting here next to me and will be going in soon. Called the RMA in to BFG for the 680i and it's on its way back tomorrow. When I get the replacement, I'll put it on eBay and let some other poor sap deal with its problems.
