I'm running RHEL4 at work on a Dell 690 with an Nvidia Quadro FX 4500. (64 bits, but I don't think that makes a difference in this case.) I also run FC2 on a Dell 670 with an Nvidia Quadro FX 4500. Two different people built the two different loads.
I'm running a visual task that requires the screen to have 8 stencil bits available. The 670/FC2 runs correctly and reports 8 stencil bits. The 690/RHEL4 runs incorrectly and reports 0 stencil bits. The two people who built the different loads have no idea what difference caused this problem and have thrown up their hands. Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks, John |

It was pointed out to me that I actually have one FC2 on a Dell 670 / Nvidia Quadro FX 4500 that has stencil bits that work and a second one that does not.
Again, they were installed by two different people, and they've thrown up their hands. (And no, it's not as simple as to sit the two machines down side-by-side and compare the two systems.) |
