i understand that, especially on forums where people can vent their issues they'll be more than likely to vent than to praise. i'm just getting annoyed at the number of people claiming to be on their fifth 360 or more. i mean what are they doing, dropping them off a shelf?

When I reading an article about X360 failings not too long ago they said there is some sort of "towel wrap" thing you can do to potentially fix it. Supposedly the heat, helps some faulty soldering or something to that effect. Might be worth a shot. Don't hold me to that exactly since I just quickly glanced at it. I might have some of the details wrong about the cause of the failures and why a towel wrapped around it might fix it.

Edit: Actually, doesn't appear to be a permanent fix.

People over exaggerate problems with windows and say MS can't code when it was some piece of software they put on their computer themselves, or the crappy drivers that they put on the system.

the towel fix is for cold solder joints. the towel keeps the heat inside the console, and heats up the metal often improving the connections. since seraths will play fine cold, but then heats up and freezes, it sounds more like a heat issue than a cold solder joint.

not saying that they do not break, i'm saying half of these claims are people spouting out at the mouth and not real cases. if as many broke as half the people seem to claim, ms would have a serious class-action lawsuit on their hands.

So MS can't make a shotty product, only Sony? People were bitching all about PS2s failing throughout its life why can't they bitch about the X360 having a a high failure rate.

OK, I know that since you're Canadian you might be a bit slow on the uptake, but here it is again:

UPS did not leave any notification on my door that they were attempting to deliver the package from Microsoft. I am pissed at them about it. I am also pissed at Microsoft for not notifying me that they had received the package back. Got it? Good because I'm not going to explain it again, and if you have anything else to say about this particular issue and how I'm "hating" on Microsoft, keep it to yourself.

the ms product is shotty, i will never argue against that, cheap fans, poor ventilation, annoying drives, crappy thermal compound, etc. i was just saying that it is getting old how there are so many people now claiming to have gone through so many 360s. i went through two ps2s, no reason to complain, i don't expect modern computers to last forever.

it's not the bitching about the breaking, because i feel sorry for people like saturn that have to go through this, it's the people claiming they've had so many break and some of them have never even owned the console.

How do you know there lying? Probably 20 people on here has said there system died on them and saturnotaku was one of those allways ragging on them until it finally happend to him. All these Nvner's are liars and working for Sony you think? No, its just the fact if you have a 360 its not a question of if your system is going to die but when.

No one on this or any other forum can deny that the initial batch of 360s (about 600K units) where more prone to failure then units manufactured after 3/06. Microsoft has admitted that the initial run had issues and in turn extended the 1 year warranty for units manufactured in 05 and the early part of 06. I see no problem with people like Saturnotaku telling us about his experiences with his Xbox360 return but some people on these forums (you all know who you are) love to kick in their sarcastic fanboy rants to heat up these forums. This is the way it's always been around here so at this point I'm pretty much numb to it. I'd also like to point out that this is not just directed to Sony fans... Xbox and Wii fans love to kick Sony's favorite console in the nuts any chance they get so the hating is universal around here.
