Problems with 6600 LE and Linux

Hi, I am trying to run linux on my 6600 LE gfx card , when i install ubuntu and boot the screen is blank and says "input not supported" I am wondering if there is something i need to change or install , but i cannot install any drivers or anything if i cannot see the screen :S Pwease help if you can , I'm new to this...

Nvidia 6600 LE 256 mb
1 GB Ram
Asus P5GL-MX Motherboard
