Everone will have a different opinion ,they are both the same chipset ,the Striker come with a few extras, but not a $150 worth ,Evga 680i SLI is a great board IMO and they have great support ,just go to thier fourms and they will help you. They both had problems when they first came out ,but Evga has most of everthing fixed.I have no problems with mine at all right now and it is very stable.I would go with EVGA ,$150 cheaper ,has the best support around, and it has a life time warranty.

Neither. Go with one of the new 650i boards from MSI or Asus. The 680is just have too many bugs.

I've now RMA'd 2 of them.

While the Striker has had its share of problems, I haven't heard anything about it killing RAM; something that users here and over at [H] have experienced with EVGA's board.

The Striker is pretty stable now, and the BIOS is updated frequently to address new/remaining issues. Just don't try to stick 4GB of ProMOS based RAM in it.

I'm leaning towards the striker but I heard its overclocking sucks! Has any of th recent bios improved anything?

The 0901 and 1002 BIOSes have fixed the voltage issue that was affecting overclocking. There's also a new revision coming out to address overclocking issues with Quad Core (just like EVGA and everyone else). As long as you don't try to stick four sticks of memory in it, you'll overclock just fine (my 4 dominators are going back and getting replaced with 2x2GB G.Skills - for sticks kills my OC)

Lots of people I know from other forums can get 3.5GHz on air using the Striker and a QX6700. Obviously at those speeds though water is the ideal solution. I sure wish heat was never a problem.

But at what FSB? I've seen people having trouble going 350 MHz with the QX6700 on the Asus forums.
