I'm a bit annoyed how Tuning plays out in this game. I like the option of Tuning but there should of been more thought put into the Tuning somehow.

Tuning seems to unbalance the races too much, especially in multiplayer but also in single player. If you have a strong class car to begin with, then tune it, it really gives too much of an advantage I feel.

Perhaps they should of made it so when you tune a car to level 2 or 3 it bumps it up to the next higher class?

My favorite 'B' car is the Lamborghini Gallardo SE with 3rd stage tuning. Almost drives itself.

Great news! Just d/l and installed vista sp1, added the v1.66a patch along with the new forceware 174.53 drivers with the .inf modified file and presto, I've got in-game sound. Everything works as advertised.

I think there are supposed to be a few cars that do in fact move up a class when you tune them to stage 3. In multipler I would just assume that everyone is using a stage 3 car, unless you know the people and they say otherwise. As for single player, I don't see it being a real big issue because it allows people who aren't as good at racing the car a better chance of passing. There are even a few races where I don't think I could have beaten the thing without having a stage 3 car. Until that skyline came out, there was a race in the middle of the island that headed west across a bunch of hills in heavy traffic. I don't think it was the 170+mph through heavy traffic race but something else. I could not beat that damn thing without the skyline because none of the cars seemed to be fast enough to make it to the end let alone trying to dodge all of the traffic.

Update on situation. I found out the reason I had in-game sound after d/ling sp1 and applying the v1.66a patch was because the sp1 update reset my speakers to stereo in the control panel. Turns out in my situation that the in-game sound will not work with 'Quadraphonic' selected (I have 4.1) and the v1.66a patch. Works fine with 'Stereo' or '5.1 Surround' selected though. Don't know if the reason lies with my soundcard, the way vista x64 handles the soundcard drivers, tdu and the patch or a combination of them all. Anyway, hope that helps your problem with tdu.

Found a fix. You have to add the game to ALchemy.

I think it's supposed to for some vehicles.

At least it gives the warning that it will but I don't remember any of my cars being bumped

Hell, I raced a lot of C class races with my Skyline just because I could

As an aside, what is a good device that I can use to clamp my steering wheel to that is portable?

I want to be able to use this for both my computer and my ps3 for GT-5 when it is released.

I am looking for a small portable stand or something like that

Any one with information, please let me know I've seen a few items online but I am not looking to spend 300 bucks for one

Finally made Champion status. Hardcore mode is definitely for the hardcore. Very slippery and the car behaves like it weights about 200lbs. total.
